The IC200CMM020 is a Versamax Serial Communications module crafted by GE Fanuc, designed to function as a Modbus RTU Master within a Versamax I/O station overseen by a Genius Network Interface Unit. This module can be strategically installed at any location within the I/O station, with each station accommodating up to two serial communication modules. The IC200CMM020 provides 5V power to external devices via its serial port, offering approximately 100mA of accessible power, which may fluctuate based on the wiring of the serial device. Factors such as serial line terminations, duplex mode, line activity, and the use of external adapters can affect the current draw. The module has a maximum load capacity of 200mA, safeguarded by an internal current limit switch that prevents damage by halting communication and the flow of external power as necessary. When the module’s LED indicator turns amber, it signals an overdraw condition that requires user attention; once resolved, communication and power flow will resume.
