Description
The Beckhoff EL5101 is an incremental encoder interface terminal for the EtherCAT Terminal system. It accepts differential RS422 or single-ended TTL encoder signals (A, B, C tracks) and provides a 16-bit or 32-bit switchable counter, latch input, and gate function for position and speed acquisition.
A 24 V DC / 0.5 A supply for the encoder is available at the terminal, and the interface can also operate as a pulse counter. It is a standard building block for adding position feedback to an EtherCAT I/O station.
