The ProSoft Technology MVI56E-GEC is an enhanced generic ASCII Ethernet communication module for 1756-format in-chassis platforms. It handles ASCII messaging over Ethernet TCP/IP, commonly used to connect barcode readers, printers, labelers, scales, and other ASCII-speaking plant devices to the host controller without burdening the controller CPU with socket handling.
