The Honeywell Spyder 21 IO controller is a programmable stand-alone unit designed for advanced industrial use. It offers 6 user interfaces, 4 digital inputs, 3 analog outputs, and 8 digital outputs, incorporating key features such as a real-time clock and Sylk Bus for integration with Sylk-enabled sensors. It uses the Echelon LonWorks network protocol for optimal communication and can engage in both standalone operations and complex LonWorks bus network communications.
This model includes comprehensive zone control functions, among which you find a remote wall module interface and a scheduler. Some variants of this product also come equipped with a microbridge air flow sensor with a dual integral restrictor design. Actuator features for this model mount directly onto the VAV box damper shaft, delivering up to 44 lb-in torque, 90-degree stroke, and a 90 second timing at 60 Hz.
All connections are wired to removable terminal blocks, simplifying both the installation and replacement processes. For top-line durability and safety, both the controller housing and the actuator carry a UL plenum rating.
The device incorporates a high-speed, free topology transceiver that supports a 78-kilobit communications network. The system can be configured to host up to 106 controllers per Q7751A,B router when set as a repeater. The Spyder controller is fully field-configurable and programmable for control, input, and output functions using NIAGARA FRAMEWORK software. In addition to user-defined network variables and a function block engine for customizable HVAC applications, it supports significant event notifications, periodic updates, and failure detection capabilities.
This controller runs on 24 VAC power, with a valid voltage range from 20 to 30 VAC, and can withstand an operating temperature from -40 F to 150 F. The Spyder 21 IO is UL/cUL listed (E87741) under UL916 (standard for open energy management equipment) to meet FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class B requirements for radiated emissions. Designed for DIN rail mounting, it fits applications facing fan coils, heat pumps, and unit heaters.
