The Honeywell Spyder 21 IO controller is a unitary programmable device featuring 6 UI, 4 DI, 3 AO, and 8 DO. Equipped with a Real-Time Clock and a Sylk Bus, the controller operates on a high-speed 78 Kilobit Echelon LonWorks network protocol, which allows for standalone operation or integration with a LonWorks bus network communication system.
The uniqueness of the Spyder 21 IO lies in its advanced zone control functionalities, including a transformative remote wall module interface and a scheduler. Select models (PVL0000AS, PVL4022AS, PVL6436AS, and PVL6438NS) come with a Microbridge Air Flow Sensor, offering easy user access to flow sensor inputs and featuring a dual integral restrictor design.
For superior maneuverability, an actuator mounts directly onto the VAV box damper shaft, offering up to 44 lb-in torque, a 90-degree stroke, and 90-second timing at 60 Hz. All wiring connections are established through removable terminal blocks to streamline controller installation and replacement procedures.
The Spyder 21 IO controller is designed with a UL plenum-rated housing and actuator. This controller works with Free Topology Transceiver (FTT) and also accommodates Sylk-enabled sensors through the Sylk Bus. When configured as a repeater, it leverages the Q7751A,B router to host up to 104 controllers.
The Spyder 21 IO controller can be efficiently programmed for optimal control, input, and output functionalities using the NIAGARA FRAMEWORK® software. The product features user-defined network variables and a Function Block Engine, which empowers application designers to configure the device for a wide array of HVAC applications. Significant event notification, a periodic update capability, and a failure detect function are additional features that ensure efficient system performance.
The controller delivers power at 24 VAC within a valid range of 20 to 30 VAC, and operates efficiently at temperatures ranging from -40 F to 150 F. The controller meets the UL/cUL (E87741) listing under UL916, ensuring open energy management equipment with plenum rating, also complying with FCC Part 15, Subpart B, and Class B radiated emissions requirements. The product is designed for applications such as fan coils, heat pumps and unit heaters. For easy installation, the controller features a DIN rail mount.
