Description

The Honeywell Spyder Controller is a VAV, programmable model with a built-in actuator, real-time clock, and Sylk bus feature. The product encapsulates an EIA-485 communications network that can handle baud rates between 96 and 1152 kbits/s, enhancing overall communication efficacy. The controller housing, along with the actuator, have both been UL plenum rated ensuring safety for usage. Specially designed for sylk-enabled sensors, the Sylk bus can support a staggering capacity of up to 40 controllers per BACnet MS/TP segment idealistically recommended to be kept below 30. The controller carries a function block engine capable of custom programming for a versatile range of HVAC applications.

The Spyder Controller showcases built-in zone control functions, incorporating a remote wall module interface and a scheduler. It is equipped with a Microbridge Air Flow Sensor with a dual integral restrictor design compatible with specific models such as PVB0000AS, PVB4022AS, PVB4024NS, PVB6436AS, and PVB6438NS. Easy access to air flow sensor inputs is another sophisticated feature of this product.

The actuator mounts directly onto the VAV Box Damper Shaft, offering a torque of up to 44 lb-in, 90-degree stroke and 90-second timing at 60 Hz for specific models such as PVB0000AS, PVB4022AS, and PVB6436AS. To simplify controller installation and replacement, all wiring connections are made to removable terminal blocks.

With an operating temperature from 32 F to 122 F, the Spyder Controller is powered with 24 VAC, maintaining a valid range of 20 to 30 VAC. The product is UL/cUL (E87741) listed under UL916 with a plenum rating that meets FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class B for Radiated Emissions requirements. The controller is primarily characterized by a BACnet MS/TP communication network and RS-485 ports. Applicable for use with Fan Coils and VAV, this device is mounted via damper shaft.
