The IC698CHS009, manufactured by GE Automation and Controls, is a versatile front or rear-mounted rack case designed to accommodate a range of RX7i and Series 90-70 modules and CPUs. This robust rack features nine module slots, with connectors on the backplane spaced 0.8 inches (20.3 mm) apart, allowing for single-width modules in each slot. Double-width modules occupy two slots each, while slot zero is dedicated to the power supply and slot one is reserved for the programmable logic controller (PLC) CPU. The rack supports various module configurations without the need for DIP switches or jumpers, thanks to its slot sensing capability for input/output modules and automatic daisy chaining of interrupt acknowledge and bus grant signals. It is equipped with J2 connectors that operate at speeds up to 64 bits per cycle, ensuring high communication efficiency.
