Description
The ProSoft Technology MVI56E-MNETC is an in-chassis Modbus TCP/IP communication module from the MVI56E enhanced series. It provides Modbus TCP/IP client and server functionality over Ethernet, allowing a controller platform to exchange process data with Modbus TCP/IP devices such as drives, meters, flow computers, and remote I/O. The module handles the protocol traffic on its own processor, so data exchange runs without loading the controller scan.
Supporting both client (master) and server (slave) roles at the same time, the MVI56E-MNETC suits applications that poll multiple field devices while also serving data up to SCADA or plant historian systems. Configuration is performed with ProSoft Configuration Builder over the Ethernet port.
