The IC695CPE310 is a robust CPU from the GE Fanuc PACSystem RX3i series, designed for real-time control of machinery, processes, and material handling systems. Powered by a 1.1 GHz Atom processor, this device offers enhanced performance compared to its predecessor, with a processing speed approximately three times faster than the 300 MHz Celeron processor found in the IC695CPU310 model. The controller features 10 MB of user memory and utilizes a dual-purpose PCI and serial backplane for seamless communication with I/O and Intelligent Option modules.

The IC695CPE310 supports two embedded Ethernet connections, capable of operating at 10Mb/sec and 100Mb/sec, and is equipped with RS-485 and RS-232 serial ports. It can manage up to 512 program blocks, with each block supporting a size of up to 128 KB. This module is compatible with various serial protocols, including Modbus RTU Slave, SNP, and Serial I/O, and uses the SNP protocol for communication with human-machine interface (HMI) devices. Users can program the IC695CPE310 using Ladder Diagram, Structured Text, C, or Function Block Diagram programming languages.

Additionally, the built-in LED indicators on the housing provide immediate feedback on the unit’s operational status, aiding in troubleshooting and system verification. The IC695CPE310 is designed for installation in any pair of slots within the main RX3i controller rack, with the exception of the two highest-numbered slots. It is important to note that when upgrading from the IC695CPU310 to the IC695CPE310, the RS-232 port on the CPE310 does not deliver 5V power on pin 5. The power requirements for this CPU are 3.3 VDC, 5 VDC, or 24 VDC, with a current rating of 1 Amp at 3.3 and 5 Volts DC, and 0.5 Amps at 24 Volts DC.
