Combining advanced PM motor support, integrated Safe Torque Off, and high-response vector control, the Fuji Electric FRN0059G2S-2GU is a FRENIC-MEGA (G2) series advanced variable frequency drive (VFD) for 230V three-phase applications, rated at 20 HP / 59.4A (Normal Duty), 15 HP / 49A (Heavy Duty).
The FRENIC-MEGA G2 generation introduces key advancements over the G1 platform: native support for permanent magnet (PM) motors — both Interior PM (IPM) and Surface PM (SPM) — enabling pairing with high-efficiency PM motors for system efficiency well above standard induction motor installations. Built-in Safe Torque Off (STO, SIL2/PLd certified) eliminates external safety contactors in many machine safety architectures, meeting IEC 62061 and ISO 13849 requirements.
High-response vector control provides fast torque response with or without encoder feedback. Communication: RS-485 Modbus RTU standard; optional PROFIBUS-DP, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, CC-Link, and PROFINET for Industry 4.0 integration. Additional features: enhanced EMC, extended operating temperature range, improved cooling, and comprehensive diagnostics.
The FRN0059G2S-2GU is well-suited for permanent magnet (IPM/SPM) motor applications, safety-rated machinery requiring STO certification, and high-performance pumps and compressors requiring dynamic torque control. UL/cUL listed and CE marked.
