The SICK WL18-3P430 is a high-performance retro-reflective photoelectric sensor designed to handle challenging detection tasks in industrial environments. Its standout feature is autocollimation technology, which uses a single-lens system to reliably detect transparent objects—such as glass bottles, clear films, and PET trays—while eliminating blind spots right in front of the sensor face.
With a sensing range of up to 7 meters (using a standard PL80A reflector) and a fast response time of under 2.5ms, it ensures precision in high-speed packaging and logistics lines. Encased in a durable, IP67-rated housing, the WL18-3P430 is built to withstand harsh temperatures and washdowns, making it a robust "see-everything" solution.

Meet the WL18-3P430. A robust, retro-reflective photoelectric sensor designed for harsh industrial environments. It uses Autocollimation technology to see transparent objects and eliminate blind spots.
The WL18-3P430 is a Retro-reflective sensor. It sends a red light beam to a reflector, which bounces it back. When an object breaks this beam, the sensor switches. Try the simulation below to see the logic in action.
The maximum range depends heavily on the reflector used. The PL80A provides the standard 7m range. Smaller reflectors reduce the operational distance.
With a response time of < 2.5 ms and a switching frequency of 200 Hz, the WL18 is suitable for moderate to high-speed conveyor systems.
