The SICK SX0A-A0000B is an intelligent system plug designed for the microScan3 Core safety laser scanner, serving as the central interface for connectivity and configuration storage. It features an integrated memory module that retains all safety parameters, enabling "plug-and-play" device replacement where a damaged scanner head can be swapped out without connecting a laptop. Equipped with a standard 8-pin M12 connector, it manages power and local OSSD safety outputs while remaining fixed to the machine cabling. This design maximizes uptime by streamlining maintenance and ensuring that critical safety settings are preserved during hardware exchanges.

This is more than just a connector. The SX0A-A0000B is the "Core" system plug that houses the configuration memory and connectivity interface for the SICK microScan3 family. It enables rapid scanner replacement without the need for a laptop or reprogramming.
In industrial safety, downtime is expensive. If a forklift damages the laser scanner head, you simply unclip the broken head and clip on a new one. The SX0A-A0000B System Plug stays on the machine and automatically uploads the saved safety configuration to the new head. No laptop required.
The "A0000B" designation indicates this is a Core plug. It provides the essential local I/O connections (OSSDs) via a standardized M12 connector, making it ideal for standalone safety applications without complex networking.
M12 Male, 8-Pin, A-Coded
Top-Side Connection
| Pin 1 | 24V DC | Supply Voltage |
| Pin 2 | OSSD 1 | Safety Output A |
| Pin 3 | 0V | Ground |
| Pin 4 | OSSD 2 | Safety Output B |
| Pin 5-8 | I/O | Reset / EDM / Universal |
Note: This is a Core plug. It does not support EFI-pro or EtherNet/IP/PROFINET safety networking. For network-based safety, a different system plug (e.g., EtherNet/IP variant) is required.
