Description
The Schneider Electric BMEH584040 is a Hot Standby processor module for the Modicon M580 ePAC platform. As a Level 4 redundant CPU it is intended for critical process applications in water and wastewater, energy, oil and gas, and manufacturing, where control automatically transfers to the standby unit on failure of the primary, minimizing downtime.
The M580 platform is built on native Ethernet: the CPU communicates over Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP and supports Ethernet remote I/O drops using X80 modules, with cybersecurity features embedded in the controller firmware.
