National Instruments VXI-8340

The National Instruments VXI-8340 is a high-performance VXI MXI-3 Interface Module designed for seamless connectivity between external computers and VXI systems. This module is available in two variants: a single-port model (Part Number: 778293-01), which supports direct connection to a PC in a star configuration, and a dual-port model (Part Number: 778293-02), which facilitates multi-chassis configurations through a daisy chain setup. The dual-port version includes both MXI-in and MXI-out ports, enabling the connection of multiple VXI-8340 modules via a single cable from the controlling PC. Built on advanced MXI-3 technology, the VXI-8340 combines a MITE ASIC with a PCI-PCI bridge interface operating at full PCI bus frequency (33 MHz), ensuring high data throughput. The module accommodates copper cabling with a maximum distance of 10 meters, and it conforms to a C-size form factor, measuring 9.2 by 13.4 inches and weighing 2.6 pounds for the single-port version and 2.7 pounds for the dual-port version.
