The National Instruments VXI-1501 Mainframe is a robust and versatile platform designed for the VXI (VME eXtensions for Instrumentation) family of modules. This mainframe accommodates 13 slots for modules, facilitating a wide array of configurations and applications. It features a reversible base that allows for flexible mounting options within standard racks. The VXI-1501 is engineered with a reliable power supply that accepts a range of input voltages, including 110 VAC and 220 VAC, as well as operation from a 400 Hz AC line or a DC supply. Integrated variable speed fans ensure optimal cooling for both the power supply and inserted modules, with two selectable fan modes to adapt to varying thermal conditions. The mainframe provides seven types of electrically protected supply voltages, safeguarding against overvoltage and overcurrent scenarios. Operating at 25°C, the maximum power consumption for the VXI-1501 is 1690 W, decreasing to 1488 W at 55°C. It effectively maintains a temperature rise of no more than 10°C while delivering sufficient airflow to each of the 13 slots, even with high-density modules dissipating up to 60 W. Maintenance is simplified through easily removable components, facilitating repairs without the need for disassembly from the rack. Additionally, a 25-pin port located at the rear enables monitoring of auxiliary power supply conditions. Although National Instruments has announced that the VXI-1501 is obsolete, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves. The mainframe comes with a warranty of 2-3 years and user and maintenance manuals can be downloaded for operational guidance. For pricing details, please contact a sales representative.
