The National Instruments UMI-7772 (Part Number: 778556-01) is a versatile 2-axis Universal Motion Interface designed specifically for the 73xx series motion controllers from National Instruments. As a compact standalone device, it serves as an essential connectivity accessory, providing dedicated feedback and control connectors that enable independent motion control for each axis. For operation, the UMI-7772 can be paired with various drives, including the 3A and 6A AKD analog servo drives, as well as P70530 DC and P70360 AC stepper drives. It is fitted with a 25-pin D-SUB connector and a 68-pin digital I/O connector, allowing for easy integration with appropriate servo or stepper motors. The unit is designed for flexible mounting options, including DIN rail, panel, or rack mount. To operate, a 24 VDC, 10-watt minimum power supply is required, and the unit can be connected to the motion controller using either a 2 m or a 0.5 m SHC68-C68-S cable. A 4-position power terminal block facilitates wiring for 5 to 30 VDC isolated power and 24 VDC power connections. With a weight of 2.5 lbs and dimensions of 10.2 x 5.0 x 0.87 inches, the UMI-7772 is both compact and robust.
