National Instruments SLSC-12201

The National Instruments SLSC-12201 is a versatile Digital I/O Module designed for SLSC applications, featuring 32 bidirectional digital channels. This module allows for flexible configuration of its channels; when set as inputs, channels can operate in sinking, push-pull, or sourcing modes, while output channels can be configured for sinking or sourcing as well, facilitating customizable logic thresholds. With compatibility for a wide range of signal levels particularly suited for aerospace and automotive applications, the SLSC-12201 complies with SLSC level 1 specifications and includes features such as integrated overvoltage protection rated at ±60 V.

The channels are organized into two banks, each containing two ports with eight channels per port, enabling efficient management of signals. This module operates on an external power supply with a voltage requirement ranging from 5 VDC to 33 VDC, with a minimum operational voltage of 4 VDC to avoid lockout conditions. Additional capabilities include powered-on configuration and software-controlled channel direction settings, with digital input range and thresholds adjustable on a per-bank basis. The module supports a continuous output current of up to 50 mA and can generate digital outputs with a maximum pulse width of 100 ns.
