National Instruments SLSC-12101

The National Instruments SLSC-12101 Prototyping Module (Part Number: 785204-01) is a Level-2 compatible prototyping solution designed for developers working with SLSC modules. This module incorporates the MAX V CPLD, a preprogrammed controller that facilitates efficient prototype design. It features a versatile prototyping area that provides access to 3.3 V and 24 V power rails, along with a 5 V auxiliary power supply rail. The module includes two high-density 44-position DSUB connectors on the front panel, offering connectivity options from both the first and second banks of the prototyping area. An additional region, referred to as the RTI, provides extra space for accessing rear I/O connectors.

The SLSC-12101 is equipped with essential peripherals, including a 16-position rotary switch, two front panel LEDs, four temperature sensors, and 17 8-bit wide ports. It is designed for customization, featuring a populated JTAG header for CPLD programming, enabling tailored functionality. The board’s prototyping area is organized into five distinct sections, adhering to SLSC Design Guidelines, and includes user-configurable power supplies for three CPLD banks. Furthermore, it allows for signal monitoring via a dedicated 3-pin MICTOR connector, which supports connections to a logic analyzer. Although National Instruments has announced the obsolete status of the SLSC-12101, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
