Description

The National Instruments SCB-100 Shielded Connector Block (Part Numbers: 776990-01, 182788C-01) is designed to facilitate the interfacing of I/O signals with 100-pin connector data acquisition devices, ensuring robust, low-noise signal termination suitable for industrial automation applications. This shielded connector block features 100 screw terminals, including one No Connect (NC) terminal, configured to easily connect with compatible products such as the AT-MIO-64E-3 and AT-MIO-16DE-10, which utilize the 0.050 series shielded D-type I/O connector. The SCB-100 is particularly advantageous when used with thermocouples, as it incorporates a cold-junction compensation temperature sensor with a precision of ±0.5 °C and an output of 10 mV/°C, enhancing the accuracy of temperature measurements. Operating with a current consumption of only 10 mA at +5 VDC ±5%, the SCB-100 efficiently performs even without signal conditioning.

The connector block can accommodate wire gauges ranging from 14 AWG to 26 AWG and requires a torque of 0.5 N⋅m to 0.6 N⋅m (4 in.⋅lb to 5 in.⋅lb) for secure connections. Compact in design, the SCB-100 measures 17.93 cm × 15.37 cm × 4.50 cm (7.06 in. × 6.05 in. × 1.77 in.) and has a weight of 897 g (1 lb 15.6 oz). It is suitable for diverse industrial environments with an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C and a storage temperature range of -55 °C to 125 °C, while supporting relative humidity levels of 5% to 90% noncondensing. The SCB-100 also includes features such as direct feedthrough mode, thermocouple measurements, open thermocouple detection, current input, filtering, and voltage dividers. To utilize these features, the DIP switches must be configured to direct feedthrough mode. For further information and specifications, users can refer to the available user and maintenance manuals, and pricing details can be obtained by contacting a sales representative.
