National Instruments SC-2061

The National Instruments SC-2061 is an advanced optically isolated Digital Output Electromechanical Relay designed for use in industrial automation applications. As a member of the SC-206x module family, the SC-2061 features eight individually isolated digital output channels, enabling precise control of high-voltage digital signals when interfaced with compatible NI DAQ modules. The relay can be connected to any 8-bit digital port using SC-205x Series cable adapter devices. Each output channel is configured with a unique ground reference, and the unit provides electrical isolation of 250 Vrms between channels and 400 Vrms between channels and ground. The SC-2061 requires an external +5 VDC signal, along with a 4.7 kΩ pull-up resistor for each channel to operate effectively.

This versatile relay can be conveniently mounted on a workbench using adjustable metal standoffs or accommodated within a rack-mount chassis, which may include options for metal wraparound or acrylic plastic covers. The SC-2061 supports integration within a 19-inch rackmount setup alongside SC-205x Series devices, allowing for a cohesive and organized installation. Although National Instruments has announced the SC-2061 as obsolete, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves. For specific dimensions, the module measures 5.2 inches by 4.9 inches by 1.8 inches and has power consumption specifications of 130 mA maximum, with typical usage of 21 mA when all outputs are low and 77 mA when all outputs are high.
