National Instruments PXI-8175

The National Instruments PXI-8175 is an embedded PXI controller engineered for cost-effective automation, data acquisition, and instrumentation applications. Powered by an 866 MHz Intel Pentium III processor, this controller supports internal PXI Trigger Bus routing and provides full PCI bandwidth of 132 MBps. It features a 15 GB hard drive, 256 KB on-die cache, and is designed in a compact 3U PXI form factor, measuring 6.1 cm x 13 cm x 21.6 cm and weighing approximately 0.64 kg (1.41 lb).

The front panel includes a COM1 RS-232 serial port, a parallel port (IEEE 1284), two USB 2.0 ports, a 10/100 Ethernet port, a VGA port, and PS/2 mouse and keyboard connectors. Additionally, a system reset push button and two status LEDs (POWER OK and DRIVE) enhance user interaction by providing immediate feedback on system health. With an exceptional mean time between failures (MTBF) of 226,000 hours, the PXI-8175 is a reliable choice for industrial applications.

While the PXI-8175 is oriented towards integration within PXI-compatible systems, such as the PXI-1000B chassis, it may require one system and three controller expansion slots for deployment.
