National Instruments PXI-6259

The National Instruments PXI-6259 is a versatile PXI Multifunction I/O Module that features 16 differential or 32 single-ended analog input channels, delivering 16-bit resolution at sampling rates of up to 1.25 MS/s. This module includes 48 digital I/O channels and 4 analog output channels, providing comprehensive data acquisition capabilities suited for a wide range of applications. Designed for high performance, the PXI-6259 incorporates advanced features such as correlated digital I/O, two 32-bit timers/counters, and extensive analog I/O options. It supports sensor and high-voltage measurement capabilities through compatible SCXI or SCC signal conditioning modules, enhancing its utility in complex measurement tasks. The module boasts timing accuracy of up to 50 ppm, combined with NI-MCal calibration technology to ensure reliable operation. With six DMA channels, it facilitates high-speed data throughput, while an onboard NI-PGIA 2 amplifier ensures fast settling times and maintains 16-bit accuracy at high scan rates. The module allows for analog and digital triggering and offers seven programmable input ranges per channel. It can also accommodate X1, X2, or X4 quadrature encoder inputs, delivering comprehensive measurement capabilities. The PXI-6259 operates with an analog input ground voltage of ±11 V and maintains input impedance exceeding 10 GΩ in the “On” state. The timing resolution is specified at 50 ns. For ease of use, the module is compatible with NI-DAQmx driver software and can be configured through the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool, supporting application development in LabVIEW, LabWindows, and Measurement Studio environments. Connection is facilitated by a robust 68-pin shielded connector block. Although the PXI-6259 has been announced as obsolete, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
