National Instruments PXI-6071E

The National Instruments PXI-6071E is a high-performance multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) module designed for the PXI platform (Part Number: 777676-01). This module features 64 single-ended or 32 differential analog input channels, providing an input resolution of 12 bits with a maximum sample rate of 1.25 MS per second. It includes two analog output channels, also with 12-bit resolution, and eight digital I/O channels that are compatible with 5 V TTL logic levels. The onboard FIFO buffer has a size of 512 samples, complemented by three direct memory access (DMA) channels to enhance data throughput.

The PXI-6071E is equipped with eight programmable function input (PFI) lines for software-controlled digital and timing signal routing, as well as an RTSI or PXI Trigger Bus feature that allows for synchronized operation across multiple devices. The module supports various input modes, including referenced single-ended (RSE) operation, making it suitable for applications with floating signal sources. Additionally, it integrates an onboard temperature sensor to monitor operational conditions and prevent overheating.

With the Elite Driver Engine, the PXI-6071E achieves high throughput and supports software-timed single-point inputs at rates up to 50 kHz. The included NI-DAQ software facilitates easy data scaling for voltage measurements into application-specific units using Measurement Ready virtual channels, and offers seamless integration with LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or Measurement Studio through automatic code generation via the DAQ Assistant. The module has a physical footprint of 6.3 x 3.9 inches and weighs 4.1 ounces. While National Instruments has announced an end-of-life status for the PXI-6071E, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
