The National Instruments PXI-2530 is a high-performance 128-channel PXI Matrix Switch Module, available under part numbers 778660-01 and 189291A-01. This versatile module offers configurable switching architectures, capable of supporting three matrix and four multiplexer configurations, including 32 x 1 (4-wire), 64 x 1 (2-wire), and 128 x 1 (1-wire) multiplexer setups, as well as various matrix combinations such as 4 x 16 (2-wire) and 8 x 16 (1-wire). With a maximum switching speed of 900 channels per second, it is ideal for high-speed measurement applications, including compatibility with the PXI-4070 FlexDMM.
The PXI-2530 ensures robust performance with a channel-to-channel maximum switching voltage of 60 VDC and 30 VACrms (CAT I), and a channel-to-ground maximum switching voltage of 60 VDC and 30 VACrms (CAT I). Each terminal supports a maximum input current of 0.4 A, along with a maximum switching input power of 10 W. Designed for scalability, the device features eight interconnected banks of 16 x 1 (1-wire) multiplexers, allowing for independent topology configurations.
The built-in reed relays offer an impressive mechanical lifespan of up to 1 billion cycles with a relay operate/release time of 555 μS. The PXI-2530 guarantees greater than 60 dB channel-to-channel isolation across a 200 kHz frequency band, making it suitable for various instrumentation setups. Users can seamlessly integrate the module using the NI-SWITCH driver for full operational control, and it also supports configurations with the TB-2630, TB-2631, or TB-2632 Terminal Block.
Operating within 50 Ω systems, the PXI-2530 provides bandwidths of over 15 MHz and 3 MHz for 16 x 1 and 128 x 1 configurations, respectively. For trigger signal management, it uses either front panel or PXI trigger lines 0–7. The module features a 176-pin docking station plug on the front panel and has an operational temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C. The PXI-2530 measures 8.5 x 0.8 x 5.1 inches and weighs 14 oz. It has been designated as obsolete by National Instruments, but remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
