National Instruments PXI-1044

The National Instruments PXI-1044 is a robust 14-slot PXI chassis designed for compatibility with both PXI and CompactPCI 3U modules, making it ideal for a wide array of testing and measurement applications. This chassis features a field-removable power supply shuttle that enables quick replacements, achieving a mean time to repair of under five minutes, and supports module operation with a slot cooling capacity of 25 W per slot. Its thoughtful design includes a rack-mountable form factor complemented by a carrying handle, along with tilted feet for optimal stability on a benchtop.

The PXI-1044 provides an independent mean 10 MHz PXI_CLK10 clock signal to all peripheral slots, which can be synchronized for multi-module systems. Users can also input an external clock signal via the PXI_CLK10_IN pin on the P2 connector in the star trigger slot. The chassis is equipped with an AC input voltage range of 100–240 VAC and operates efficiently within a frequency range of 47–63 Hz, cooled by forced air circulation.

With dimensions of 6.97 x 17.54 x 17.12 inches and a weight of 27.8 lbs, the PXI-1044 is built to withstand operational temperatures from 0 to 55 °C, while storage temperatures can range from –20 to 70 °C. It includes a front-panel LED for power supply failure notifications and a software programmable trigger routing capability between bus sections.
