National Instruments PXI-1020

The National Instruments PXI-1020 is a versatile benchtop PXI chassis designed to support CompactPCI (PICMG 2.0 R 2.1) and PXI modules. This 8-slot chassis delivers a maximum usable power of 300 Watts, with 150 Watts allocated for the DC-capable supply, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. It features an integrated 6.4-inch VGA color LCD, a pointing device, and a CD-ROM drive, all accessible through the eight PXI slots and the connected PXI controller. Users can also connect an external super VGA display and mouse via the controller’s front panel for enhanced usability.

The PXI-1020 chassis includes a backplane that fully supports all triggering and timing extensions as outlined by the PXI specifications, ensuring high-performance operation. The system controller is located in slot 1, with three additional controller expansion slots available for multi-slot system controller modules. This chassis accommodates seven peripheral slots, including one ST slot, and is powered by an AC supply that operates effectively within a 47 to 63 Hz input frequency range. A 10 Ampere circuit breaker is integrated for over-current protection, and the 3U-sized backplane guarantees compatibility with both standard CompactPCI and PXI products. Although the PXI-1020 has been designated as obsolete by National Instruments, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
