The National Instruments PCI-7350 is a versatile motion controller designed for both servo and stepper motor applications, capable of controlling up to eight independent axes of motion. This advanced device supports fully user-programmable motion control in multi-dimensional coordinated spaces, allowing for complex motion trajectories, including contouring and circular interpolation. Each axis features dedicated motion input/output (I/O) for home and limit switches, ensuring precise control over motion tasks.
The PCI-7350 is equipped with state-of-the-art dual processors that provide embedded real-time control, and it accommodates a wide range of servo and stepper systems, including brushed and brushless DC servo motors as well as piezo motor systems. It achieves trajectory update rates from 62.5 µs to 5 ms for servo applications and 62.5 to 500 µs for stepper applications, with a maximum step frequency of 8 MHz and a PID rate of 62.5 µs for every two axes.
Connectivity is facilitated through two 68-pin motion I/O connectors, which provide all necessary signals for closed-loop motion control, and two additional 68-pin digital I/O connectors offering 64 bits of digital I/O along with 12 input channels for Hall effect sensors. Digital I/O operations include 24 inputs, 8 outputs, and 2 PWM outputs. The PCI-7350 integrates a custom FPGA to support the digital signal processor, delivering capabilities for position capture, encoder interfacing, and stepper pulse generation, which enhances its multitasking and multiprocessing embedded control features.
This motion controller has dimensions of 6.9 x 3.9 inches and weighs 0.25 lbs. Power requirements include +3.3V, +5V, +12V, and –12V, consuming a total of 18 W. Designed for flexibility and high-performance movement applications, the PCI-7350 operates with the NI-Motion software driver and is backed by a three-year warranty. For comprehensive documentation, user and maintenance manuals are available for download. Please contact a sales representative for pricing information.
