The National Instruments PCI-7324 is a versatile motion controller designed for both open-loop and closed-loop operation, accommodating a wide range of stepper motor applications including micro-stepping, half-step, and full-step modes. This controller features integrated quadrature encoders for accurate velocity and position feedback and supports advanced trapezoidal profile control for precise positioning based on the difference between desired and actual positions. With a maximum step frequency of 750,000 steps per second and the ability to handle encoder frequencies up to 1 MHz, the PCI-7324 ensures high-performance motion control. It is equipped with one 68-pin Digital I/O connector and one 68-pin Motion I/O connector, facilitating straightforward connections to external devices. Installation is seamless into any empty 5 V PCI slot, and configuration is primarily managed via software, reducing the need for physical jumper changes, although some adjustments may be necessary.
