National Instruments PCI-6229

The National Instruments PCI-6229 is a multifunction data acquisition device that provides exceptional performance in a compact design. This M Series device features 32 single-ended or 16 differential analog input channels with 16-bit resolution, supporting four input voltage ranges of ±0.2 V, ±1 V, ±5 V, and ±10 V. The common mode voltage allowable for the analog inputs is ±11 V with respect to the analog input ground. The PCI-6229 is designed to deliver low crosstalk, achieving -75 dB between adjacent channels and -90 dB between non-adjacent channels, making it suitable for demanding applications.

With a FIFO buffer of 4,095 samples and a scan list memory of 4,095 entries, this device facilitates efficient data acquisition. It supports data transfer in various modes including DMA, programmed I/O, and interrupt-driven operation. Additionally, the PCI-6229 is equipped with overvoltage protection for all analog input channels, rated at ±25 V. The device includes four analog output channels, with a maximum update rate of 833 kS/s for a single channel, and 740 kS/s, 666 kS/s, and 625 kS/s for two, three, and four channels respectively. The analog outputs have a range of ±10 V, a timing resolution of 50 ns, and a low output impedance of 0.2 Ω, capable of driving output currents of ±5 mA.

Measuring 4.2 x 6.1 inches and weighing 3.5 ounces, the PCI-6229 is built to operate in environments with a temperature range of 0 ºC to 55 ºC, and it can be stored within -20 ºC to 70 ºC. The device is also rated for operation in a non-condensing humidity range of 10% to 90% RH and is resilient against random vibrations up to 0.3 grms while operating, and 2.4 grms when not in operation.
