National Instruments PCI-6010

The National Instruments PCI-6010 is a versatile multifunction I/O device designed to support a wide array of applications including manufacturing testing, design verification, automation, and research. Featuring two analog outputs, six digital inputs, and four digital outputs, this device is equipped with advanced capabilities such as 32-bit counter/timer I/O, making it an ideal choice for OEM products. The PCI-6010 includes a D-SUB 37-pin connector for flexible connectivity with various components. It offers two 32-bit counters/timers that facilitate pulse, edge counting, period, semi-period, and two-edge separation measurements, while also enabling output applications like pulse generation and frequency division.

With the ability to operate in both 3.3 V and 5 V environments, the PCI-6010 accommodates external digital triggers via any available PFI line, allowing for software-selectable signal polarity. It boasts eight differential or sixteen single-ended analog input channels, featuring a 16-bit ADC that supports DC input coupling. The device can acquire samples at rates up to 200 kS/s in single-channel mode and 33.3 kS/s during scanning, with an input voltage range of ±5 V, ±1 V, and ±0.2 V. Additionally, the PCI-6010 includes a frequency generator and is operable with base clock frequencies of 10 MHz and 100 kHz.

Using the NIDAQmx driver software, the PCI-6010 is compatible with various software packages and application development environments, including LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI. Its compact dimensions of 4.7 x 3.4 inches, coupled with a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C and a storage temperature range of -20 to 70 °C, make it suitable for diverse environments. The multifunction I/O device adheres to strict electrical safety standards including IEC 61010-1 and UL 61010-1. Although National Instruments has announced the end-of-life status for the PCI-6010, it remains available for purchase and repairs through Apex Waves.
