National Instruments PCI-5105

The National Instruments PCI-5105 is a high-performance oscilloscope and digitizer designed for advanced measurement applications. It features eight channels with simultaneous sampling capabilities, accommodating input ranges from 50 mV to 30 V. The device offers software-selectable input impedance options of either 50 Ω or 1 MΩ, alongside a maximum bandwidth of 60 MHz and a sample rate of 60 MS/s. Users can leverage deep onboard memory capacities of 16 MB, 128 MB, or 512 MB, depending on the selected part number: 779686-01, 779686-02, and 779686-03, respectively. The PCI-5105 supports a multitude of triggering options and ensures tight synchronization across multiple units, which can extend to 136 phase-coherent channels within a single PCI body.

For analytical tasks, the PCI-5105 includes over 50 built-in estimation and analysis functions, with the potential to expand this to over 400 functions through programming in NI LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio, Microsoft Visual C/C++, or .NET environments. The device is compatible with PCI and PCI Express Hybrid slots, and installation is facilitated by the NI-SCOPE Soft Front Panel (SFP), which provides intuitive control (available in version 14.1) and is included on the NI-SCOPE media. Additionally, the NI Measurement Automation Explorer (MAX), also included on the NI-SCOPE media, offers user-friendly setup and testing tools.

The PCI-5105 is equipped with two SMB jack front panel connectors, weighs 15.2 oz, and its physical dimensions are 14.0 in × 0.8 in × 4.4 in. It operates within a temperature range of 0 °C to 45 °C and can be stored in conditions ranging from -40 °C to 71 °C. The device supports non-condensing humidity levels of 10% to 90% for operation and 5% to 95% for storage. Although the PCI-5105 has entered the maintenance phase as of December 30, 2022, it remains available for purchase through Apex Waves, which will continue to buy, sell, and repair end-of-life (EOL) NI hardware.
