Description

The National Instruments PCI-1410 (part number 779209-01) is a sophisticated 4-channel image acquisition device designed for high-efficiency monochrome imaging applications. It features analog area and line-scan capabilities, enabling users to buffer large images with its 16 MB onboard memory prior to transferring them to the PCI bus. This device offers versatile synchronization options through its RTSI bus, allowing integration with other NI devices including data acquisition (DAQ), IMAQ, or motion systems. The PCI-1410 includes advanced trigger control and mapping circuitry, which manages the routing of both RTSI and external trigger signals.

This image acquisition module supports video formats RS-170 and CCIR, and it features an 8 or 10-bit digitization process facilitated by a 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (A/D). The output is processed through a 1024 x 10 RAM lookup table (LUT), which can be configured for basic image processing functions such as contrast enhancement and gamma adjustment. Moreover, the device is equipped with software-selectable antichrominance filters tailored for PAL and NTSC signals, along with a 9 MHz low-pass filter to mitigate noise interference.

To further enhance signal quality, the PCI-1410 provides programmable offset and gain circuitry while offering four general-purpose digital I/O lines for triggering and pulse generation. This device is exclusively designed for Windows-based PCs and is compatible with the NI-IMAQ driver software, facilitating integration with development environments like LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio. Physical specifications include dimensions of 4.2 x 6.9 inches and a weight of 0.28 lbs, with operational temperature ranges of 0 to 55 °C and storage ranges of -20 to 70 °C. The PCI-1410 has been declared obsolete by National Instruments, yet it remains available for purchase and repairs through Apex Waves.
