The National Instruments NI-9213 Thermocouple Input Module is designed for seamless integration with CompactDAQ and CompactRIO chassis, making it ideal for advanced data acquisition and control applications. This versatile module features 16 channels, providing a maximum accuracy of 2.25 degrees Celsius, and supports a sample rate of 75 samples per second. Notably, the NI-9213 is hot-swappable, enabling easy transport between platforms without the need for reconfiguration.
Equipped with an autozero function, the module allows for the adjustment of offset errors in thermocouple readings. It operates in two timing modes: high-resolution, which enhances precision and minimizes the impact of power line frequency noise, and high-speed, which maximizes signal bandwidth and sampling rate. The NI-9213 incorporates filtering to reduce 50 Hz and 60 Hz noise interference and is designed with a voltage measurement range of ±78.125 mV and an input current of 50 nA.
The channels utilize a differential filter followed by multiplexing, with data sampled by a 24-bit Delta-Sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC), ensuring high-quality signal accuracy. The module maintains continuous 250 Vrms channel-to-earth isolation and operates effectively within a temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C, with a warm-up time of 15 minutes.
The NI-9213 is fully compatible with NI-DAQmx driver software and can be configured via the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. It supports a wide range of software environments, including LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Microsoft .NET applications. The module comes with a three-year warranty and is backed by a recommended calibration interval of at least one year. Detailed user and maintenance manuals are available for download.
