The National Instruments 786982-01 Vector Signal Transceiver, also referred to as the PXIe-5841, is an advanced device that combines the functionalities of a vector signal generator and vector signal analyzer within a compact 2U PXI Express module. With an instantaneous bandwidth of up to 1 GHz, it effectively supports testing across a variety of cellular and wireless standards, including Wi-Fi 6 and 5G NR. The device operates across a frequency range of 9 kHz to 6 GHz on both RF IN and RF OUT ports, enabling precise signal generation and analysis. Its performance is enhanced through a software-defined radio architecture, which promotes flexibility and robust research and development capabilities.

Equipped with an internal local oscillator, the 786982-01 can leverage an optional high-performance module for improved phase noise and error vector magnitude performance. The module boasts powerful baseband processing capabilities, featuring analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters with sampling rates up to 1.25 GS/s, supported by a Xilinx Virtex-7 X690T FPGA. This configuration provides extensive data processing capabilities with 433,200 look-up tables and 3,600 DSP48 slices. Additional memory resources include 2 GB of DRAM per bank and 2 MB of onboard SRAM, facilitating high data throughput and storage needs. Designed to withstand a wide range of environmental conditions, the 786982-01 operates effectively between 0 °C and 55 °C.
