Description

The National Instruments 782377-01 (PXIe-5645R) RF and Baseband Vector Signal Transceiver (VST) is an advanced, highly integrated solution that combines both a vector signal generator and a vector signal analyzer, offering FPGA-based real-time signal processing capabilities. This versatile module operates across a frequency range of 65 MHz to 6 GHz and features an 80 MHz bandwidth, enabling precise signal generation and analysis for a wide range of applications. The device provides a high-performance differential or single-ended baseband I/Q interface, along with accurate frequency control characterized by a tuning resolution of less than 1 Hz and programmable local oscillator (LO) step sizes in both fractional and integer modes.

Boasting fast frequency settling times, the model can achieve a maximum settling time of only 1.2 ms within 0.1 × 10⁻⁶ of the final frequency, ensuring minimal downtime during transitions. With low phase noise levels of -99 dBc/Hz at a 20 kHz offset for frequencies under 3 GHz, this transceiver is designed to maintain signal integrity in demanding RF environments. The RF input stage supports an amplitude range from the noise floor to +30 dBm, with a settling time of 125 μs to reach 0.1 dB of the final value, making it ideal for applications necessitating precise signal measurement and analysis.

Equipped with a Xilinx Virtex-6 LX195T FPGA, the NI 782377-01 features 124,800 look-up tables (LUTs) and 249,600 flip-flops, providing substantial processing power for complex algorithm execution directly on the device. High-speed data transfers and efficient memory management are supported through onboard DRAM and SRAM, achieving a theoretical maximum data rate of 2.1 GB/s per DRAM bank. The I/Q input and output channels deliver complex equalized bandwidth of 80 MHz. The device is designed to operate under a variety of environmental conditions, with a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C and resistance to high levels of shock and vibration. Its compact design is lightweight at 1,758 g and measures 8.1 cm × 12.9 cm × 21.1 cm (3.2 in × 5.6 in × 8.3 in), making it suitable for a range of deployment scenarios.
