Description
The National Instruments 781439-01, designated as the USB-6343, is a versatile multifunction I/O device that integrates digital and analog I/O capabilities with four precision 32-bit counters/timers. Designed for applications including test automation, control, and basic data logging, this device supports retriggerable measurement tasks and leverages the advanced NI-STC3 timing and synchronization technology, ensuring high accuracy and reliability across a range of measurement and control applications.
The analog input configuration features a 16-bit ADC resolution, accommodating 32 single-ended channels or 16 differential channels, with an impressive maximum sample rate of 500 kS/s for both single-channel and aggregate operations while guaranteeing no missing codes. Input voltage levels can reach a maximum of ±11 V relative to AI GND, and the input ranges include ±0.2 V, ±1 V, ±5 V, and ±10 V. With a common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 100 dB for DC to 60 Hz frequencies, the device exhibits exceptional noise rejection.
For analog output, the USB-6343 includes four channels with a 16-bit DAC resolution, maintaining monotonicity with a DNL of ±1 LSB and a maximum output update rate of 900 kS/s, making it suitable for applications requiring rapid and accurate analog signal generation. The digital I/O section provides 48 channels, individually configurable as inputs or outputs, comprising 32 lines (P0.<0..31>) and 16 lines (PFI <0..7>/P1, PFI <8..15>/P2). Enhanced protection features include input voltage tolerance of up to ±20 V on two pins and built-in 50 kΩ pull-down resistors, reinforcing the device's resilience in diverse industrial environments.
The four 32-bit general-purpose counters facilitate a wide range of measurements, including edge counting, pulse width, period, and two-edge separation, while also supporting location measurements through two-pulse encoding and quadrature encoding with Channel Z refilling. Additionally, this device accepts external base clocks ranging from 0 MHz to 25 MHz, as well as various internal base clock options (100 MHz, 20 MHz, and 100 kHz), ensuring flexibility and precision in timing applications.
