The National Instruments 779307-01 Data Acquisition Module is an integral component of the PCI-4461 model series, engineered for high-precision data acquisition in sound and vibration applications. This module features six adjustable gain settings to tailor the input range, enabling simultaneous two-channel dynamic signal generation and acquisition. Key functionalities include integrated electronic piezoelectric (IEPE) conditioning and configurable AC/DC coupling, which ensure accurate measurements from a diverse array of transducers, such as accelerometers and microphones. With versatile applications in machine condition monitoring (MCM), noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) analysis, audio testing, and automotive evaluations, the 779307-01 is optimized for both sound and vibration monitoring.

This device supports two input and output channels; it can accommodate up to four input channels for applications that require concurrent signal production and acquisition. The analog input channels utilize 24-bit ADCs with adjustable sampling rates from 44.1 kS/s to 192 kS/s, suitable for standard audio tasks. They include a gain amplifier allowing settings from -20 dB to +30 dB in 10 dB increments and programmable AC/DC coupling for enhanced analog readings through both single-ended and differential connections. Digital and analog filters are implemented to prevent aliasing and ensure accurate frequency-domain measurements. Furthermore, the dual analog output channels, also at 24-bit resolution, deliver high-fidelity stimulus signals at software-programmable speeds of up to 204.8 kS/s, facilitating frequency response assessments.

For multi-channel applications, multiple 779307-01 modules can be synchronized with minimal phase mismatch. The module supports both digital and analog triggering, with trigger sources including external digital inputs, the PXI trigger bus, RTSI bus, and analog input channels. Based on the NI-DAQmx driver, this device seamlessly integrates with NI measurement services software for automated testing systems and compatibility with other hardware including modular instruments and multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) products.
