The National Instruments 778572-31 PXI Matrix Switch Module, also known as the PXI-2531, offers versatile configuration options for signal switching across multiple topologies, including 1-wire 4 × 128 matrix, 1-wire 8 × 64 matrix, 1-wire dual 4 × 64 matrix, and 1-wire dual 8 × 32 matrix. This module supports a maximum switching voltage of 60 VDC and 30 VAC rms between channels, as well as 60 VDC and 30 VAC rms, CAT I channel to ground. It is capable of handling a maximum switching power of 10 W and a maximum current of 0.5 A per channel, while exhibiting a DC path resistance of less than 1 Ω initially, increasing to a minimum of 2 Ω over time.

The module facilitates system synchronization and coordination through its input trigger signals, which can be routed to PXI trigger lines 0 through 7 with a minimum pulse width of 150 ns. Conversely, the output trigger signals can be directed to the same trigger lines with a pulse width range of 1 μs to 62 μs. Designed as a single-slot 3U module, the PXI-2531 is fully compatible with PXI (PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation) and cPCI (CompactPCI) systems.

The relative humidity rating is 5% to 85%, non-condensing, and it has a pollution degree level of 2, indicating suitability for environments with low to moderate contamination levels.
