This air conditioner incorporates a closed-loop cooling design in which the enclosure interior airflow remains completely isolated from ambient air or water flow, ensuring that sensitive electrical components are protected within a cool, dehumidified compartment free from external contamination. The system uses CFC-free R134a refrigerant with epoxy-coated condenser and evaporator coils rated to withstand 1000 hours of salt spray per ASTM B 117 testing, providing enhanced durability in moderately corrosive environments. A compressor crankcase heater and short-cycle protector work together to extend compressor life by preventing frequent restarts caused by fluctuating heat loads, power interruptions, or solar gain--conditions that can significantly degrade compressor reliability.
