The Compact Plus Series H5R-4 is a top-mounted air conditioning unit designed to deliver precise, reliable cooling for industrial electrical enclosures while protecting sensitive components from heat and humidity. This system features closed-loop cooling architecture that completely isolates the enclosure interior airflow from ambient conditions, preventing contaminated air from entering the cooled compartment and ensuring consistent dehumidification of critical equipment.

The unit is constructed with a heavy-duty steel shell finished in ANSI 61 gray powder-baked coating, with custom color options available upon request. Both the condenser and evaporator coils are epoxy-coated to withstand 1000 hours of salt spray testing per ASTM B 117, providing enhanced durability in moderately corrosive environments. Internal corrosion protection on the refrigeration system's brazed joints offers additional safeguards for installations exposed to harsh conditions. The system uses environmentally friendly CFC-free R134a refrigerant and includes a thermal expansion valve for efficient cooling control. A condenser air filter prevents debris accumulation, while epoxy coating on critical coils extends service life across varied industrial settings.

Advanced operational protections ensure optimal performance across diverse environments. The compressor short cycle protector prevents damage from frequent restarts caused by fluctuating heat loads or power interruptions, significantly extending compressor life in applications subject to solar gain or variable equipment usage. A compressor crankcase heater maintains proper oil temperature during idle periods, while the low ambient kit maintains safe operating pressures when temperatures drop to 0F by modulating condenser airflow. A low evaporator airflow detector alerts operators to potential blockages, and the programmable thermostat with temperature alarm enables early intervention if cooling performance degrades. Additional conveniences include lifting eyes for safe installation, a 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD PVC drain tube for condensate management, a twenty-foot power cord with plug, remote monitoring capability via TTL connection, and hot gas bypass valve for enhanced system efficiency.
