The Honeywell Spyder 8 IO is a Variable Air Volume (VAV) controller that's programmable with a robust interface comprising 4 UI, 2 AO, and 2 DO. This individually-licensed controller utilizes a BACnet MS/TP communication protocol and an RS-485 connection, thus enabling high-speed data transmission with baud rates between 96 and 1152 kbits/s.

One of its standout features is its integrated actuator and real-time clock, alongside a Sylk bus system that allows its use with Sylk-enabled sensors. The controller housing and actuator have been designed to comply with UL Plenum ratings for added safety. In terms of capacity, it can support up to 40 controllers per BACnet MS/TP segment, although a total of 30 is recommended for optimal performance.

The Spyder 8 IO meets all necessary approval standards, being UL/cUL listed under UL916 for Open Energy Management Equipment and featuring a Plenum rating.
