The Honeywell Spyder 21 IO offers a programmable, standalone controller for variable air volume (VAV) applications with diverse I/O capabilities, including 6 universal inputs, 4 digital inputs, 3 analog outputs, and 8 digital outputs. Facilitating communication via the BACnet Master-Slave/Token-Passing (MS/TP) protocol over RS-485, this controller is capable of EIA-485 network communications with baud rates ranging from 96 to 1152 kbits/s.
The Spyder 21 IO is equipped with both a real-time clock and a Sylk bus for seamless integration with Sylk-enabled sensors. With support for up to 40 controllers per BACnet MS/TP segment, this device also includes a function block engine, which empowers designers to program a wide range of HVAC applications.
For enhanced zone control, the controller has a built-in remote wall module interface and scheduler. The integrated Microbridge air flow sensor offers a dual integral restrictor design for specific models, providing easy user access to air flow sensor inputs.
Certain actuator models can be directly mounted onto the VAV box damper shaft, offering up to 44 lb-in torque with a 90-degree stroke and 90-second timing at 60Hz. All connections are made to removable terminal blocks, simplifying controller installation and replacement.
The power voltage ranges from 20 to 30 VAC, with an operating temperature between 32 F and 122 F. UL/cUL listed under UL916 with a plenum rating, the Spyder 21 IO meets FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class B requirements for radiated emissions. Mounting is facilitated via a DIN rail.
