The Spyder 21 IO is a unitary and programmable Honeywell controller that features a combination of 6 Universal Inputs, 4 Digital Inputs, 3 Analog Outputs, and 8 Digital Outputs. This controller is uniquely licensed and utilizes the Echelon LonWorks Network Protocol. It's equipped with an integrated real-time clock and uses a Sylk Bus, enhancing its capacity by connecting with Sylk-enabled sensors.
On select models, a microbridge air flow sensor having a dual integral restrictor design is incorporated to facilitate easy user access. Certain models also boast an actuator that mounts directly onto the VAV box damper shaft, rendering an impressive up to 44 lb-in torque with 90-degree stroke.
The controller, as well as the actuator, are both encapsulated in a UL Plenum-rated casing to ensure safety and durability. The Spyder 21 IO also accommodates processing speed through a Free Topology Transceiver High-Speed 78 Kilobit Communications Network. It can function as a standalone unit but has also the option to utilize the LonWorks Bus Network Communications for integrated operations.
It can be configured and programmed in a field setup using the state-of-the-art NIAGARA FRAMEWORK Software for control, input, and output functions. The device's Function Block Engine allows designers to program the controller to execute a plethora of HVAC applications.
The Spyder 21 IO offers a swift event notification feature, timely update ability, and a failure detection mechanism for network inputs within a configurable timeframe. The Spyder 21 IO operates effectively within a temperature range from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. It operates on a power voltage of 24 VAC within a valid range of 20 to 30 VAC.
The controller meets UL/cUL certification and adheres to the guidelines prescribed under UL916 Standard for Open Energy Management Equipment. Communication with the network is managed through Lonworks, and it can support a maximum of 105 controllers per Q7751A, B router when set up as a repeater.
The unit is ideal for use with fan coils, heat pumps, and unit heaters, and it can conveniently be installed on a DIN rail mount.
