Description

The Spyder, 21 IO is a unitary, programmable controller from Honeywell with six UI, four DI, three AO, and eight DO. This device incorporates a real-time clock and is designed for use with the Sylk Bus. It operates on the Echelon LonWorks network protocol for superior connectivity and enhanced functionality.

One of the remarkable features of this controller is its built-in zone control functions, which include a remote wall module interface and a scheduler. It also boasts a Microbridge air flow sensor that comes with a dual integral restrictor design for models such as PVL0000AS, PVL4022AS, PVL4024NS, PVL6436AS, and PVL6438NS.

The user can easily access air flow sensor inputs for effortless operation. Additionally, the actuator for specific models mounts directly onto the VAV box damper shaft and delivers a torque of upto 44 lb-in, 90-degree stroke, and 90-second timing at 60Hz.

To simplify controller installation and replacement, all wiring connections are made to removable terminal blocks. With both controller housing and actuator being UL plenum rated, it ensures optimal safety.

This controller is complimented with a high-speed 78 Kilobit free topology transceiver (FTT) communications network. It's capable of standalone operation and can use LonWorks Bus network communications. The Sylk Bus is designed for use with Sylk-enabled sensors, promoting versatility in operations.

It is noteworthy that this device can host 103 controllers per Q7751A, B router when configured as a repeater. This controller is field-configurable and programmable for control, input, and output functions using the NIAGARA FRAMEWORK software.

User-defined network variables ensure customization in usage. It also offers a function block engine, enabling the application designer to program the controller to perform various HVAC applications.

With significant event notification, periodic update capability, and failure detect when network inputs fail to be detected in the set timeframe, this device boasts of its reliable and efficient performance.

In terms of technical specifications, the device operates on 24 VAC power with a valid range of 20 to 30 VAC, with an operating temperature ranging from -40 F to 150 F. It has been approved by UL/cUL (E87741) and listed under UL916 (Standard for Open Energy Management Equipment). It also meets FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class B requirements for radiated emissions.

Finally, this Spyder controller is suited for a myriad of applications including fan coils, heat pumps, and unit heaters and fits perfectly with DIN rail mount, making it a versatile automation solution.
