The Honeywell Spyder 10 Input/Output (IO) is a Variable Air Volume (VAV) controller that is both programmable and standalone featuring four user inputs, two analog outputs, and four digital outputs. This device is empowered by the Echelon LonWorks Network Protocol and includes a real-time clock, and Sylk Bus for use with Sylk-enabled sensors. Built-in zone control functions encompass a remote wall module interface and a scheduler, alongside easy access to air flow sensor inputs.
A distinction of this controller lies within its Microbridge Air Flow Sensor with Dual Integral Restrictor Design (applicable to models PVL0000AS, PVL4022AS, PVL4024NS, PVL6436AS, and PVL6438NS). The Actuator (manifested in the models PVL0000AS, PVL4022AS, and PVL6436AS) mounts directly onto the VAV box damper shaft, exhibiting up to 44 lb-in torque, 90-degree stroke, and 90-second timing at 60 Hz.
The Spyder 10 IO Controller ensures easy installation and replacement through the use of removable terminal blocks for all wiring connections. Both its housing and actuator possess UL Plenum rating. The controller features a Free Topology Transceiver (FTT) that enables a high-speed 78 kilobit communication network, creating a significant advance in automation and control.
The Spyder 10 IO Controller operates independently, but can also leverage LonWorks Bus Network Communications. Its configuration allows for up to 113 controllers per Q7751A,B router when used as a repeater. For further customization, the controller can be field-configured and programmed for control, input, and output functions using the NIAGARA FRAMEWORK Software.
Added features include user-defined network variables, a function block engine for application design versatility, and essential safety measures such as significant event notification, periodic update capability, and Failure Detect when network inputs fail within their configured time frame.
The Spyder 10 IO Controller operates with a power voltage of 24 VAC with a valid range of 20 to 30 VAC, and functions within an operating temperature range of 32 F to 122 F. Meeting FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class B (Radiated Emissions) requirements, the controller is UL/cUL (E87741) listed under UL916 (Standard for Open Energy Management Equipment) with Plenum Rating. The controller communicates via the LonWorks network, can be mounted on a DIN Rail, and uses FTT-10A LON ports.
