The Spyder 10 IO Controller by Honeywell is a programmable, stand-alone control unit designed for superior efficiency in industrial automation. With a convenient arrangement of 4 Universal Inputs, 2 Analog Outputs, 4 Digital Outputs, and featuring communications via the BACnet MS/TP over an RS-485 port, the Spyder 10 IO supports versatile integration possibilities in any control landscape.
The controller is enriched with a variety of features including a Real Time Clock and Sylk Bus, enabling compatibility with Sylk-Enabled sensors. It is developed to facilitate EIA-485 network communications and can mainstream baud rates between 9.6 and 115.2 kbits/s. This robust device can comfortably support up to 40 controllers per BACnet MS/TP segment, with a recommended limit of 30 for optimal performance.
Its uniqueness is elevated by an in-built function block engine, which empowers the application designer to program the controller to handle a vast array of HVAC applications. The controller also features built-in zone control functions including a remote wall module interface and a scheduler. There's a user-friendly interface for easy access to air flow sensor inputs and the microbridge air flow sensor featuring a dual integral restrictor design.
The Spyder 10 IO controller has a physically sturdy design with both the controller housing and actuator being UL Plenum rated. The removable terminal blocks of the wiring connections simplify installation and replacement needs. The actuator is designed to mount directly onto VAV box damper shaft with up to 44 lb-in. torque, 90-degree stroke, and 90-second timing at 60 Hz.
With a power requirement of 19 VAC within a valid range of 20 to 30 VAC, it ensures an efficient performance under varying power conditions. The operating temperature range is versatile, spanning from -40 F to 150 F, which makes it fitting for a broad spectrum of applications including fan coils, heat pumps and unit heaters.
In terms of safety and compliance, the Spyder 10 IO controller is UL/cUL (E87741) listed under UL916 with a Plenum rating, and it meets FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class B requirements for radiated emissions.
