The Spyder, 0 IO is a programmable VAV (Variable Air Volume) controller by Honeywell, utilizing zero inputs and outputs with an integrated LON networking capability. It offers advanced automation through its built-in actuator, real-time clock, and Sylk bus system. This controller taps into the powerful Echelon LonWorks Network Protocol for seamless connectivity and control.
This device incorporates convenient zone control functions like a remote wall module interface and scheduling. Specific models feature a microbridge air flow sensor that comes with a dual integral restrictor design for precise readings and easy accessibility.
The actuator, seen in specific models, mounts directly onto the VAV box damper shaft, providing up to 44 lb-in torque with a 90-degree stroke and 90-second timing at 60 Hz. All wiring connections connect to removable terminal blocks for easy installation and replacement.
Housing for both the controller and actuator is UL plenum-rated. The inclusion of the high-speed Free Topology Transceiver (FTT) bolsters this with a 78-kilobit communications network. Though capable of stand-alone operation, it can also utilize the LonWorks Bus network communications and Sylk bus for Sylk-enabled sensors.
This Honeywell VAV controller can handle up to 107 controllers per Q7751A,B router when configured as a repeater. Its wide variety of HVAC application programming is made possible through the function block engine.
Important features include user-defined network variables, significant event notification, and a periodic update capability. It also possesses a failure-detect (FD) attribute that alerts users when network inputs go undetected within a configurable timeframe.
Powered by 24 VAC with a valid range of 20 to 30 VAC, it operates efficiently between 32 F and 122 F. It is UL/cUL (E87741) listed under UL916 for open energy management equipment and meets FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class B for radiated emissions. Communication is facilitated via the LonWorks network and an FTT-10A LON type, programmable port. Its mounting is conveniently positioned on the damper shaft.
