The IC698CRE040 PACSystems RX7i CPU from GE Fanuc is engineered for real-time control of machines, processes, and material handling systems. It utilizes a VME64 standard format for I/O and smart option module communication via a rack-mounted backplane. The CPU is powered by an 1800MHz Pentium-M microprocessor and incorporates 64 MB of user memory with battery backup and 64 MB of non-volatile user flash memory. An essential feature of this unit is its hot standby (HSB) redundancy capability, which requires the use of a Redundancy CPU and Redundancy Memory Xchange module (IC698RMX016) configured as a redundancy link. The moisture and built-in Ethernet port facilitate communication with programming devices and HMI systems, supporting web data monitoring through a maximum of 16 simultaneous web server and FTP connections.
