The IC693PCM311 is a Programmable Coprocessor Module designed for use with the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 PLCs. This module is not compatible with PLC boards that incorporate embedded CPUs from series 311, 313, or 323. It supports programming in both MegaBasic and C languages and can function as an RTU Master when used with GE Fanuc software. Installation should avoid using slot 1, which is designated for the main CPU, as Remote and Expansion Baseplates do not possess additional CPU slots for the IC693PCM311.
The module operates in two modes: program mode and run mode, with mode switching facilitated by a restart button. It is equipped with three indication LEDs, wherein one LED is continuously on to indicate the operational status of the module, while the other two LEDs provide default status for the module’s ports and can be customized as needed by the user. A lithium battery is included to back up the RAM memory, specifically the IC693ACC301 replacement battery, which attaches to the module's faceplate using a mounting clip. Prior to initial use, the battery must be plugged in; it should be removed for long-term storage.
For utilizing the ports on the front of the IC693PCM311, IC693CBL305 cables are required to connect to these ports. The module comes with one cable that allows for the simultaneous connection of both ports from a single connector. Additionally, IC690CBL701/702/705 cables can be utilized to connect the coprocessor to the serial ports of programmers using RS-232 or RS-232 converters.
