The GE Fanuc IC693DNS201 is a DeviceNet Slave Communications Module designed for efficient data exchange within a DeviceNet network as a network server. This module facilitates automatic communication, enabling the seamless sending and receiving of messages with a master device on the same network. It is compatible for installation in the main rack of a RX3i system or the main and expansion racks of a Series 90-30 system. Each IC693DNS201 module functions as a distinct node within the DeviceNet architecture, supporting up to two I/O messaging connections and explicit messaging configurations. The module features three DeviceNet-compliant LEDs that provide clear operational and communication status indications. For connectivity, it is equipped with a 9-pin male D-connector (RS-232 serial port) for PC connections necessary for firmware upgrades, as well as a removable spring-clamp terminal that ensures bus continuity without interrupting bus operation. Capable of handling standard DeviceNet data rates, the IC693DNS201 supports a maximum of 255 bytes for both input and output data transfer. It is important to note that this module cannot be configured using a Hand-Held Programmer, nor is it compatible with LogicMaster Programming software, Control, or VersaPro software.
